When Rebecca and Rob reached out to us with their vision of a Mediterranean-inspired wedding with an autumnal twist, we couldn’t have been more excited. Their chosen venue, Gandel Hall at the National Gallery in Canberra, offered the perfect canvas to bring their dream to life. Here’s how we made it happen.
A Mediterranean Vision with an Autumnal Touch
The couple wanted a Mediterranean outdoor festive atmosphere while embracing the warm, earthy tones of autumn. To achieve this, they integrated rich browns and deep oranges into the design, blending beautifully with the Mediterranean blues and greens.
Floral Artistry by Wiluna Studio
No wedding is complete without beautiful florals. Our collaboration with Wiluna Studio gave us the opportunity to elevate the room with stunning arrangements. The flowers not only adorned the tables but were also integrated into various elements of the décor, providing that romantic Mediterranean flair.
Seating can often be overlooked, but not in this case. Our walnut timber bentwood chairs offered a rustic yet elegant feel, adding depth and sophistication to the setting enhancing the beautiful timber floors throughout the venue.
Custom Merbau Sky Room Frames
One of the most unique elements we introduced were the custom Merbau sky room frames. These structures were designed and fabricated by the talented team at SPE and they were used to span the entire space, and we couldn’t resist adding warm fairy lights for that magical touch. These frames acted as the hero in the room, creating intimacy within a large high-ceiling venue. They met the brief for creating that real sense of an outdoor festive celebration.
The Final Touch
As the evening unfolded, the fairy lights cast a soft glow, and the well-thought-out details came together to create a seamless, harmonious event that truly reflected Rebecca and Rob’s vision.
