This year, Show Pony Events had the privilege of bringing the spirit of this famous race to the Hotel Realm Canberra, Leyla Bar at The Burbury, and The Albi at Woden – all part of the Doma Hotel Group. Our mission: to create a Spring racing carnival atmosphere that matched the excitement and elegance of the Melbourne Cup itself.

Recognising the Melbourne Cup’s celebrated spot in Australia’s sporting traditions, our goal was to channel the vibrant spirit of the Spring racing season. With a clear and vibrant brief in hand, we set out to create an atmosphere filled with colour and imaginative floral designs, bringing springtime to the forefront.
Harmonising with Hotel Realm’s Elegance
When styling events, we believe in complementing the inherent beauty of a venue. For the Hotel Realm, this meant carefully reading its interior decor, noting the furnishing and colour palette, and ensuring our props and floral arrangements synergised seamlessly. Our approach is always about enhancing, never overshadowing.

The event space came alive with an array of features:
